Robert NelsonRobert Nelson

Robert Nelson founded Heartwood Construction in 2002. He has over 20 years experience as a residential remodeling carpenter. Robert has remodeled homes of all ages and specializes in energy efficiency and preserving the architectural integrity of older homes through historic preservation.

Robert has a Bachelors degree in history and drama from Principia College. When he is not remodeling and reading, Robert enjoys spending time with his wife, Ann, and his daughter, Cheris, and walking their dog, Ollie.

 

Sam OvaninSam Ovanin

Certified Lead CarpenterSam Ovanin is Heartwood Construction’s Certified Lead Carpenter. Sam is highly skilled in all stages of remodeling, with over a decade of experience as a remodeling carpenter. Better yet, he is arguably the most meticulous carpenter on the planet.

Sam has a Bachelors degree in Integrated Resource Management with an emphasis on Environmental Education from UW-Stevens Point. When not remodeling homes, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife, Suzi, and playing bass guitar in his band, "The Lost School."

 

Randy YarnellRandy Yarnell

Randy Yarnell is Heartwood Construction’s Project Manager. Randy brings 22 years of carpentry experience including new custom homes, historic remodels and custom made cabinetry. He has the ability to do a multitude of trades from roofing and siding to tile and trim. His finest quality as a carpenter is that he treats every project like he is doing it for himself. He puts his heart and soul into everything he makes.

Randy has a Bachelors degree in Recreational Management from UW-La Crosse. When not working in the field, Randy enjoys spending time with his wife, Marie and children, Allison and Sawyer. When he gets the opportunity to go, he loves hunting and fishing.
